Welcome!
We're talking - and running - about this because most things changed for me in May of 09.
I was "living the dream" baby. Amazing family life, close relationships with extended family and friends. Partnered with an incredible & talented team at work co-owning a successful design firm. I worked hard, I played hard. I considered myself to be in fairly good mid-40s shape. Life was so so good.
Ovarian cancer. That diagnosis put everything in a big bag and shook it up over and over for me for two years. The one thing that did NOT change was an incredible will to be positive in my attitude for myself, for my family, friends and business associates and .... for my doctors. I'm running for them. To give them the money they need to do their work. They saved my life and I want to help them save more lives.
We REALLY need to show up for this - lets bring some big chuckles and even bigger bucks to a much underfunded and really, really under "talked about" cancers below the waist to uncover the cures for ovarian, uterine, colon cancers and more. I"m on the good side of this thing now - I am now able to help others and I'm asking YOU to help ME.
So me and my peeps - we are taking it down to the briefs, the tighty whities, the skivvies, the gonchies and the boxers (no takers on the floss). We are going to walk the 5K and/or run the 10K to bring more awareness & funds to facilitate the research critical to it's detection, treatments and I'll say it out loud- ITS CURE.
What can you do about it? You can donate to me! And don't be shy either, dig deep - it's about giving these devastating cancers some exposure and shedding some light on their cures. So please help me in my effort to raise money for care and research for cancers down there!
See you there on the 9th. The whole Fluid Creative Brief's team (running/walking or donating) is invited to our house for a big debriefing session We will throw on a big spread and have lots of cold rehydration for you. Our way of saying thanks for helping.
Love,kath
